Pooja Kedia
Your Phoenix Family Law Attorney
Pooja Kedia helps Phoenix and Arizona families with divorce, child custody, parenting time, child support, and relocation matters.

When you are facing the turbulence of divorce or a complex custody challenge, you need more than just a lawyer; you need a grounded, rational guide who truly sees you. I’m Pooja Kedia, and I bring heart into everything I do. As a family law attorney in Phoenix, AZ, I am dedicated to providing practical, solution-focused legal guidance to help individuals and families navigate their most complex challenges with dignity and clarity.
At Kedia Law, we believe in the promise: Where sensibility and sensitivity meet. I strive to take off my armor and meet every person as they are, understanding that while the law deals in facts, your life is unfolding through feelings. My commitment is to help you reconcile those two realities to find the most stable path forward.
From Business Economics to Balanced Advocacy
My journey to family law is rooted in a desire to translate complex information into actionable plans. After earning my Bachelor of Science in Business Economics, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Arizona in 2002, I spent time working in the corporate sector. This experience honed my analytical skills, teaching me the value of efficiency and strategic planning; these are the same skills that are invaluable when structuring a divorce settlement or co-parenting agreement.

I pursued a legal career instead, however, earning my Juris Doctor from Arizona State University in 2011. I was driven by a deeper desire to help others navigate complex legal and emotional roadblocks, and am pleased to now use my skills studying problems, identifying solutions, and executing a compassionate plan of action with my clients.

Commitment to Community & Vulnerable Families

My legal journey provided diverse experience in advocacy for vulnerable populations:
-
Highest Pro Bono Distinction, ASU: Demonstrated a deep commitment to service during law school.
-
Marshall Brennan Fellow & Human Trafficking Research Fellow: These roles allowed me to work with an anti-trafficking non-profit and delve into critical legal and social justice issues.
-
ASU’s Immigration Law and Policy Clinic: I gained early experience helping vulnerable children gain legal status and the opportunity for adoption into supportive families.
-
Public Defender, Maricopa County: I advocated for individuals facing substance abuse, mental health, and housing challenges, learning firsthand the importance of empathy and holistic problem-solving in the legal system.

This background, which balances corporate pragmatism with dedicated public service, makes my approach uniquely effective in family law.

My Client-Centered Approach Quiets the Storm

In family law, I focus on finding fair, practical solutions for my clients. Before starting my own practice, I gained valuable experience at several family law firms, developing expertise across divorce, child custody, and child support matters.
My goal is always to help my clients reach the best possible resolution without unnecessary escalation.
This is my client-centered approach:
1. Prioritize Rationality Over Animosity
I am known for piercing the emotions and bringing rationality to the situation. My priority is to prevent emotional turmoil from dictating legal decisions. While I value hard work, integrity, and kindness, I am direct, professional, and respectful in guiding clients to make decisions based on the facts and the law, not on hurt feelings.
2. Solution-Oriented Negotiation
I work with clients who are looking for realistic, reasonable solutions. I value negotiation and settlement to minimize conflict, recognizing that striking a deal often leads to more predictable outcomes and reduced costs. My approach is to empower you to get what's fair and what is truly best for any children involved.
3. Zealous Courtroom Advocacy
While I prefer collaborative co-parenting and mutual agreement, I am comfortable representing my clients in court when a trial is necessary to achieve a just outcome. When cooperation isn’t an option, my firm is prepared to advocate fiercely in court to protect your interests and your children's well-being.

Beyond the Courtroom
Outside of my commitment to Kedia Law, I believe in maintaining a balanced perspective. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, volunteering in the community, hiking the beautiful Arizona landscape, and exploring new local spots in the Midtown Phoenix area. This practice of growth and self-care is foundational to my professional ethos, ensuring I approach every case with clarity and renewed energy.
I’m committed to offering accessible, compassionate legal support, helping my clients move forward with confidence and ensuring they feel protected throughout the process.
